Rihanna’s father has spoken  about the recent events that took place one week ago in which his daughter was allegedly bitten and hit by boyfriend and singer Chris Brown.  The incident took place a few hours after the couple had attended a pre-Grammy party honoring Clive Davis in Beverly Hills.

Ronald Fenty told People magazine “you think you know somebody but you really don’t.”

There is some bruising according to Fenty.

According to People, he saw his daughter in Barbados on Thursday, though according to an interview with Us Magazine on Saturday, he denied contact.

“No, I haven’t seen her,” Fenty told Us. “I haven’t seen her bruises.”

“She will be alright,” he said. “At some point, she will speak out. I hope she will stand up for women all over the world.” The incident came as a shock to Fenty,  “They seemed pretty happy,” he said. “I don’t  know what went wrong.”

His fatherly advise to his daughter: “If it were me, I’d move on,” he said.
