Mel and Robyn Gibson Divorcing
The Huffington Post has reported that after 28 years of marriage actor Mel Gibson and wife Robyn Gibson are divorcing. According to sources the couple is citing “irreconcilable differences.”
The couple were married in June 1980 and together they have 7 children. All of legal age with the exception of their 9 year old son Tom who will celebrate his 10th birthday on April 14, 2009. Robin Gibson is seeking joint physical custody as well as legal custody and spousal support.
In a joint statement with their publicist Alan Nierob the couple issued this statement “Throughout our marriage and separation we have always strived to maintain the privacy and integrity of our family and will continue to do so,”
Today Entertainment reported that sources close to the couple told TMZ Gibson and his wife have been separated for the last 2 1/2 years.
Gibson’s net worth has been estimated at upward of $900 million.
