A source close to 2009 Miss USA First runner up Carrie Prejean has confirmed that the controversial beauty queen, Miss California is dating Olympic gold medalist Michael Phelps.  Radar online first broke the news and in what they claim is an exclusive report from Prejeans grandmother Jeanette Coppolla who confirmed the romance.

In an article written by ♦Radar Online♦ they reported that Coppolla said in a statement:   “Carrie and Michael have been out to baseball games and lunch.   He always calls her when he is in town and they go out.” Jeanette goes on revealing, “Carrie knows that he has dated a lot of girls but she enjoys going out with him and isn’t serious about being in a relationship with him,” adding that “he’s a nice guy and she likes him.”

The website ♦Aces Showbiz♦ reported that Phelps has yet to comment on the ♥romance.  Prejean was ask by Miss USA pageant host Billy Bush about the relationship and she avoided addressing the rumors saying:

“That’s not appropriate to answer right now. He’s a great man … You can call me on a later day and we can talk about that.”
