John Ensign’s Affair With Cynthia Hampton (PHOTOS & Video)
Sen. John Ensign, a conservative Republican from Nevada, has admitted that he had an affair with a married woman.
Ensign has no intention of resigning due to the affair but did say that it was “the worst thing he had ever done in his life.”
The identity of the woman has not been named by Ensign however reports have named her as Cynthia Hampton, 46. According to sources, the affair was not a secret in the Nevada political circles.

Cynthia Hampton is the wife of Douglas Hampton who served as treasurer for Ensigns re-election campaign. Cynthia reportedly worked for ensign as well.
Also it is believed that Ensign’s affair with Hampton took place between December 2007 and August 2008. FEC records show that she ended her affiliation with the two committees in early 2008.
