Shawne Merriman assaults Tila “Tequila” Nguyen

FOX SPORTS REPORT:  San Diego Chargers linebacker Shawne Merriman was arrested early Sunday on suspicion of choking and restraining television reality show hostess and model Tila “Tequila” Nguyen, according to published reports.  Read More here

Merriman was the 2005 AFC rookie of the year and was named to the Pro Bowl in each of his first three seasons, recording a total of 39½ sacks. He was suspended for a total of four games in 2006 after a violation of the league’s steroid policy.  Read more here

NBC SanDiego.com and KABC Los Angeles said police got a call at 3:45 a.m. on Sunday from a woman who claimed to have been choked and restrained by a male at a home on Sagecrest Drive in Poway.  Read full story here
