According to the Guinness Book of World Records, Canadian Anna Bates gave birth to a baby boy who weighed 23 pounds, 12 ounces and was 30 inches long. He was born way back in 1879, however, and died just 11 hours later.

17 Pounds Born in Brazil
Brazilian woman Francisca Ramos dos Santos, 38, has given birth to a “giant baby,” who is the heaviest baby boy ever born in the South American country, the Brazilian Gynaecological Association says.
The infant is being called Ademilton dos Santos and weighs 17lb (8kg), which is twice the normal size of a baby at birth.
