Polanski faces extradition for ‘77 rape charge
Fleeing Sentencing for Unlawful Sex With 13-Year-Old 31 Years Ago
The Associated Press: The arrest of director Roman Polanski in Switzerland on charges of fleeing sentencing for the statutory rape of a 13-year-old girl in Los Angeles pushed into the diplomatic realm a case that for 31 years existed, at least in America, chiefly in the dominion of celebrity and notoriety.
Swiss justice official: Bail for Polanski possible
Polanski, 76, was arrested at the Zurich airport Saturday night by Swiss authorities acting at the request of the Los Angeles district attorney’s office.
