Robert Joe Halderman Pleads Not Guilty
A top CBS producer pleaded not guilty Friday to charges of trying to blackmail funnyman David Letterman for $2 million.
Robert “Joe” Halderman appeared in court after prosecutors accused him of trying to shake down the “Late Show” host by threatening to reveal the comedian’s numerous affairs with female staffers.
Dressed in a gray suit jacket and a salt-and-pepper goatee, the tall and bespectacled blackmail suspect answered clearly “not guilty” when asked how he pleaded in a Manhattan criminal courtroom.
