Christian Ponder Sidelined Due to Injury
Highlights: Christian Ponder separated shoulder, will not play in today’s game against Gators. E.J. Manuel will starting QB in today’s game.
Recorded crowd noise blared through Doak Campbell Stadium this week as the Florida State football team practiced. It started out annoying, then grew uncomfortable, and ultimately became maddening. And it was an important part of practice for freshman quarterback E.J. Manuel.
•INJURY UPDATE: Ponder’s injury is the most significant of the season for Florida State and he is expected to undergo tests today. He will miss the Wake Forest game and his status for the remainder of the season is in doubt.
Manuel, who took over for injured starter Christian Ponder late in the season, will start today against the No. 1-ranked Gators in The Swamp.

So far, Manuel’s only start outside Tallahassee came Nov. 14 at Wake Forest’s BB&T Field, where little more than 33,000 fans – some sitting on picnic blankets behind the end zone – watched FSU win. Read more here
