Brittany Murphy had taken prescription medication and was experiencing flu-like symptoms before her death, and her mother reported the actress also had suffered from diabetes, a coroner spokesman tells PEOPLE.

An autopsy on the Clueless star, who died Sunday at age 32, was underway Monday. A toxicology test for the presence of drugs and alcohol also will be conducted. Read full story here

Actress Brittany Murphy Dead at 32

Los Angeles, California (CNN) – Actress Brittany Murphy has died, Los Angeles police and hospital officials said Sunday. She was 32.

Murphy was pronounced dead at 10:04 a.m. PT Sunday at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, hospital spokeswoman Sally Stewart told CNN Radio.
