Dinah Shore’s estate is on the market for $5.995 million

Dinah Shore singer, actress, and television personality was born on February 29, 1916 and left the world on February 24, 1994.

During the Big Band era of 1940s, she was the most popular TV personality. She started her Solo career after failing in the singing audition of three most popular bands. She became the first most popular solo singer of the era.

She had a string of 80 charted popular hits, lasting from 1940 into the late ’50s, and after appearing in a handful of films went on to a four-decade career in American television, starring in her own music and variety shows in the ’50s and ’60s and hosting two talk shows in the ’70s.  Read full story and more here

Someone’s in the market for Dinah

The mid-century house at 550 Camino Sur in Palm Springs has a colorful history.

But owners Julian Ogalde and Reid Martin knew that when they bought it two years ago.

“We heard the house was ‘party central’ in the ’70s and ’80s,” said Ogalde, a self-described “fan of all things modern.”

The 5,383-square-foot house once belonged to philanthropist and socialite Rosalie Hearst. It also is where her niece, Patty Hearst, holed up while awaiting trial for her role in the infamous Hibernia Bank robbery in 1974.   Read full story here
