The NFL lockout ended Monday and the Baltimore Ravens wasted little time making some significant changes.
According to sources the Ravens have released wide receiver Derrick Mason and tight end Todd Heap.
In a statement to WBAL on Monday night, Mason, 37 said “I understand the business of football, and I understand what has to be done in the business of football,” he said. “It was good while I was there. I can’t hang my head down. I think I did everything above and beyond what they asked me to do when I came in there six years ago.”
Also released was running back Willis McGahee and Kelly Gregg, defensive tackle. According to sources the Ravens have cut $18.6 off their payroll.
