J.R. Martinez Will Visit the Pentagon

Defense Secretary  Leon Panetta has invited the winner of this seasons “Dancing With the Stars,” J.R. Martinez, to visit him at the Pentagon.

Panetta contacted Martinez, 28, on Friday and spoke with him for about 10 minutes via telephone.  Panetta commended Martinez on his the way he demonstrated the strength and resilience of wounded veterans.

In 2003, Martinez, was severely burned on more than 40 percent of his body while serving his country in Iraq.  The Humvee he was driving struck a land mine.

Martinez is a motivational speaker and in 2008 he starred in the now-retired soap opera “All My Children.”

It is not know when Martinez will visit the Pentagon, sources are reporting that the details are being worked out.
