L.A. County Sheriff’s Department Reaches a Settlement
James Mee, the L.A. Sheriff’s Department deputy who sued the county for discrimination, following the 2006 DUI arrest of actor Mel Gibson, has finally reached a settlement in the case.
Mee sued the county for what he claimed was punished unfairly and was not considered for promotions because the county believed that he was the source that leaked out the documents regarding Gibson’s DUI arrest to TMZ.
Initially he claimed that he was targeting because he was Jewish. This claim was thrown out of court.
The settlement terms between Mee and the county are not know.
