“Anger Management,” a new show staring actor Charlie Sheen, which is based on the comedy film by the same name… is already faced with a controversial lawsuit and it hasn’t even made it’s television debut.
The show will launch on Thursday, June 28th, 2012, at 9 p.m. ET on FX.
According to sources…the shows epic producer, Joe Roth, who is also credited for producing shows such as “Bachelor Party,” and “Major League,” is reportedly being sued by Jason Shuman and Blue Star Entertainment. In a lawsuit filed Wednesday in Los Angeles Superior Court Shuman claims that he is the person responsible for turning the famous movie into a television show and has spent two years developing it.
According to documents… Shuman claims that he and Roth had a deal and now Roth is backing out. Shuman says he was suppose to get a huge chunk of the profits from the show.
Shuman, claims in the lawsuit that he and his company are owed more than $50 million. This amount would make up for the compensation and credit he would have received on the show.
According to sources…”the complaint, filed by the L.A. firm Freedman & Taitelman, alleges causes of action for breach of contract, fraud and declaratory relief.”
The series cast includes Sheen, Michael Arden, Selma Blair, Noureen DeWulf, and Shawnee Smith.
