Patrick Dempsey Helps Rescue Teenager

follow url The official 911 call made by someone passing by the scene of a horrific accident which occurred in front of the  Malibu home of Patrick Dempsey, 46,  star of “Grey’s Anatomy,”   last week has been released.

watch Dempsey, who plays a top neurosurgeon, Dr. Derek Shepherd, on the show,  rushed to the scene of the single car accident and  helped  three other men at pull the 17-year-old boy out of the wreckage.  Dempsey then called the kid’s mother to tell her he was okay.

go The caller tells the 911 dispatcher that “There is a car accident … one vehicle … the car is upside down and smashed.”

She then said , “My husband and three other guys just pulled the boy out.”

Dempsey  reportedly remained calm and collected through the whole ordeal.  Dempsey who used a crow bar to remove Masset from the wreckage is being hailed as a “hero for his actions after the accident.”

The victim…Weston Masset told ABC News that  “I was scared for my life. I was upside down.”

The Mustang which was being driven by Weston rolled three times leaving him trapped unconscious.

Masset did remember Dempsey pulling him from the automobile.   The teenager asked Dempsey, “Aren’t you famous?” The “Grey’s Anatomy” star replied, “Yeah, I’m a doctor.”

The boys mother, Mary Beth Masset, who spoke with Dempsey said  “He had a certain authority in his voice,”  she ask him  if he was a paramedic, and he said, ‘No, this is Patrick Dempsey.'”

Masset was transported to the hospital where he was treated for a concussion…he did have an injury to one of his eyes.  He is expected to make a full recovery.

The Chilean miner who jogged in the tunnels while trapped underground not only will attend Sunday’s New York City Marathon – he wants to run it. Marathon officials had invited Edison Pena to watch the race after hearing his story when the miners were rescued last month.
