Former “NBC Nightly News” anchor Tom Brokaw has reportedly been hospitalized Charlotte, North Carolina.
According to sources…Brokaw, who is in Charlotte for the Democratic National Convention, appeared on this mornings segment of 
“Morning Joe.” The Emmy Award winning news anchor reportedly began to feel light-headed.
As a precautionary measure, he was transported to a nearby hospital to be evaluated.
It was later reported that Brokaw, 72, accidentally took a half dose of the prescription sleeping medication “Ambien.” He tweeted from the hospital to let everyone know he was doing fine and said “All is well. Early AM I mistakenly took a half dose of Ambien and made less sense than usual. Made a better comeback than Giants.”
Brokaw, served as a anchor and managing editor of NBC Nightly News for 21 years. He has participated in NBC’s coverage of every presidential election since 1968. Brokaw has also interviewed every president since Lyndon B. Johnson was elected.
Brokaw retired in 2004 after the election.
Brokaw also won every major award given in broadcast journalism, including a Peabody Award, two duPonts, and several Emmys and is also known for his charity work.
