Hollywood and award winning Broadway actor Ben Vereen file for divorce today in Los Angeles Superior Court after 36 years of marriage. The couple separated in March 2012.
According to court documents, Vereen who married Nancy Bruner, his second wife, a dancer in the London production of “Golden Boy” cited “irreconcilable differences as the cause of their failed marriage.
Vereen, reportedly does not think that his soon to be ex wife is entitled to spousal support. They have adult children therefore child support is a non-issue.
Vereen, also well know for his role as “Chicken George” in the 1977 (TV mini-series) “Roots,” which was based on Alex Haley’s 1976, publication “Roots: The Saga of an American Family,” and for his Broadway performances in…Wicked, Fosse, I’m Not Rappaport, Hair, Jesus Christ Superstar, Pippin,Grind, Jelly’s Last Jam and A Christmas Carol.
