Singer, Songwriter  Fiona Apple, 35,  was arrested for possession on Wednesday after authorities found 4 grams of hashish in her possession, after drug sniffing dogs after drug sniffing dogs detected the substance during a routine search at a by the U.S. Border Patrol agents at a border check point in Sierra Blanca, Texas. 

Apple performed Tuesday in Mesa, AZ.  and was in route to to Austin, Texas where she was scheduled to perform Thursday night….According to sources,  the Grammy winning singer’s concert in Austin was postponed.

,  admitted that the drugs were hers and according to authorities she was cooperative and calm.   She was transported to Hudspeth County jail where she remained overnight.   The “The Idler Wheel is Wiser” singer was released after posting $10,000 bond Thursday morning.  

Sierra Blanca, is the same small west Texas town where singer Willie Nelson, rapper Snoop Dogg and “The Social Network” actor Armie Hammer were arrested on  drug charges.

Country singing legend Willie Nelson, 77, was arrested on Friday (Nov. 26, 2010) for possession of marijuana. Nelson was traveling from California  to his home state of  Texas when his tour bus was pulled over by the border patrol in Sierra Blanca, Texas.
