Sophie Tweed-Simmon, 19, the daughter of rocker Gene Simmons and Canadian actress/model Shannon Tweed steped out of the shadow of her famous parent and auditioned in San Francisco for this seasons upcoming singing competition…the “The X Factor.”
Immediately…after Sophie introduced herself…judge Demi Lovato, who is a friend of Sophie’s older brother Nick, recognized the name and put it together. Lovato then revealed the identity of her famous father who was backstage watching her audition.
As for her performance…the daughter of the “Kiss” frontman chose a song by Adele “Make You Feel My Love.” Judges found a uniqueness in her voice although music producer L.A. Reid wasn’t her biggest fan. Perhaps she can sway him next time because she made it through to the next round.
Simmons daughter is not the first child of a celebrity or a political figure to audition for a singing competition such as the “X Factor.”
