- It is no longer being investigated as a kidnapping and has been changed to a juvenile runaway case.
The 16 year-old New Jersey girl…Kara Alongi, who attends Arthur L. Johnson High School, posted a message on Twitter at 6.20pm yesterday which sent Twitter users in a state of panic creating a global Twitter frenzy.
Alongi, who was last heard from Sunday evening tweeted… “There is somone in my hour ecall 911.” The message appeared to indicate that there was an intruder inside her house…someone call 911. Twitter users re-tweeted her message and the hashtag “#helpfindkara” trended on the social network. Within 24 hours, Alongi gained 98,000 followers in less than 24 hours
When authorities in Clark, New Jersey arrived at her house…Alongi was nowhere in sight, there was no evidence of a struggle or forced entry. K-9 units traced Alongi’s scent at the back door they lead authorities through a neighbors yard and around the corner. It was there that the scent went cold.
Authorities determine later that evening a taxi had been called to the Alongi’s residence which was around the same time she sent out the tweet. The taxi driver positively who identified the teen as the passenger he picked up and drove to Rahway train station earlier that evening.
According to Clark Police Chief Alan Scherb, authorities now believe that Kara’s tweets were a hoax and are now treating the case as a juvenile runaway.
Tweets sent about Kara Alongi…sources are not identified
♦It actually disgusts me that people are pointing fingers at kara, it doesn’t matter what she has said in the past, or what she says in the future, i don’t agree with what she’s said but no one deserves to be taken from their home against their will.
also the fact that someone on twitter screen shotted a tweet sent from kara a few weeks or so ago about this kid asking her out and talking to her and stuff like that. the guy on twitter accused the boy in kara’s tweet of kidnapping her.
seriously you are not the police, you don’t know kara, you don’t know her friends and you have no idea what that tweet was about. leave that poor boy alone, he probably liked kara and wanted her to be his girlfriend, now with those 170 something retweets he probably feels like shit, so shut the hell up about things you don’t know.
♦So this girl was kidnapped today after posting this tweet. Please reblog this to help find her.
♦ EVERYONE LOOK AT THIS! Kara Alongi, 16 year old from Clark, NJ went missing after tweeting this. It now appears that she ran away, rather than being kidnapped, but she is still missing. She is 5’3 with blonde hair and hazel eyes, last seen wearing a blue sweatshirt. If this were your kid, you wouldn’t want her out wandering by herself. Spread this and help find Kara!
♦Right now honestly, who the f*** cares if her tweets make her seem like a stuck up bitch. she is someone’s daughter, sister, cousin, bestfriend, and probably someone’s girlfriend. if you were in her position all you would want is to be home safe. if somebody you loved was taken away you would do anything possible to make sure they get home safe. quit being judgmental, just spread the word that this girl is missing.
♦Am I the only one who thinks it might be easier to tweet than to call 911? I feel like if she would have called 911 they would have taken forever to even get to her anyways
♦This girl a few towns over named Kara tweeted saying “There is somone in my hour ecall 911” and she hasn’t tweeted since. her parents came home to the phone on the floor and the back door open. i can’t even imagine what must be going on right now with her. i’m so terrified for her and i wish i could do something.
♦ There are so many things that bother me about the whole HelpFindKara s**t. Like if she had her phone in her hand to tweet, she could have called 911. It’s fu**ing more difficult and takes more f**king effort to compose a tweet than it does to call 911. She has like 20,000 followers on Twitter now… and that shit has hella notes…I don’t believe it. Call me cynical but I wouldn’t put it past a person who tweets evil shit like that to pull a stunt like this.
