Mitt Romney Will Cut PBS Funding

LeVar Burton, the former host of PBS show “Reading Rainbow” is really “pissed off” a Mitt Romney”  threatened to cut PBS funding last night during the first of three presidential debates.

Mitt Romney Romney called for cutting federal funding to PBS, despite saying, “I love Big Bird.”

Hate to break to there Mitt…”Big Bird really doesn’t like you at all.

Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) is a non-profit  public broadcasting television network with 354 member TV stations in the United States which hold collective ownership.

During Wedensday’s debate,  Romney claimed that PBS  it isn’t an essential government expense and promised to cut funding to the network which has been responsible for significant improvements in education, literacy, math, science and life skills for generations of our children.”

Burton claims that the  “PBS represents .00016% of our nation’s budget, yet this free resource benefits kids across all economic circumstances.”

Burton feels that if Romney took such action… it would be a punishment to the less fortunate and would be stealing an invaluable educational resource from underprivileged children.

In a statement to TMZ.com…Burton said  “I am personally outraged that any serious contender for the White House would target as part of his campaign the children of America in this fashion.”

Burton added…”On behalf of America’s children, I can’t stay silent. I encourage you to join me in fighting this short-sighted and frankly mean-spirited attack on our children.”
