Other than South Carolina getting embarrassed in The Swamp, there weren’t any other shakeups in the Top 10 this week. That’s not to say there weren’t some wild games – there were plenty of them, but it sets us up for some MONSTER games this upcoming weekend. Stay tuned…..
The talking heads told us all day on Saturday that ND should be on upset alert as they look ahead to next weeks game at Oklahoma. Coach Kelly and the boys took care of business vs. BYU and are now in position for their biggest game in years. Game of the year #1 – ND at Oklahoma. Game of the year #2 will be this week also as Florida goes to Georgia in the World’s Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party!. Florida was very impressive as the Gamecocks fumbled all over the field yesterday and put the Gators in short field position all game long. This game will decide the SEC East with the winner having the potential to play for the BCS National Championship. The Mad Hatter and the boys from the Bayou took a page out of the Old Wild Wild West as they dodged bullets all game long and finally wore down “Johnny Football” and the Aggies. LSU came from behind, overcame penalties, watched missed field goals, and have now set themselves up in 2 weeks for… The game of the year #3 – Alabama at LSU. The Ohio State Luckeyes won a game in which they had no business doing so. Star QB Braxton Miller goes out with an injury, they score late to force OT, and The Ohio State University wins in OT. Great job Coach Cut as the Dookies, yes I said the Dookies, won their 6th game yesterday beating their dreaded rival from Blue Heaven to become…….BOWL ELIGIBLE!!!!!!! Texas looked like Texas again yesterday as their dreadful defense gave up 1/2 a 100 again. Speaking of no defense, say goodbye to West Virginia. It was fun while it lasted, thank you for playing! After Boise State lost to Michigan State on opening day, I said they may not lose again this year. 6 in a row and counting…….. Nice FOOTBALL story unfolding for Penn State as they are on a roll now. Next up for the Nittany Lions…Ohio State. Plenty more “Games of the Year” to come….stay tuned!

Lastly, I leave you with another great quote from the Head Ball Coach. Regarding the release of the 2013 SEC league schedule, Coach Spurrier was thrilled to see that the South Carolina versus Georgia game was moved back to it’s traditional place in the schedule – week 2. The Head Ball Coach said he likes playing Georgia early because, and I quote “they always have a few players suspended early”!! Gotta love Spurrier.
