Justina Laniewski, 41,a resident of Glen Rock in Pennsylvania, has found herself in some legal trouble after she tried to rescue a flock of 30 wild ducks caught in a creek in the midst of Hurricane Sandy.

According to sources…Laniewski…who was drunk at the time risked her own life and that of her daughter’s when she jumped into a deep choppy raging creek to try and make the rescue.
The woman’s four-year-old daughter, reportedly tried to follow her mother into the waters and was grabbed by a neighbor just as she was about to jump off the creek beds edge.
It took 8 firefighters to rescue the woman.
Laniewski told police she was worried that the 20 to 30 ducks that live in the area of Hanover Street near the fire department would be hurt or killed because of the rising flood waters.

Darryl Smuck a Sergeant Southern Regional Police in York County reported that sobriety test indicated that alcohol level was more than twice the legal limit for driving at 0.2 per cent – the limit for a drunk driver in Pennsylvania is 0.08 per cent.
She has been charged with reckless endangerment, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness by Southern Regional Police in York County, but is currently on bail after paying a $5,000 bond.
