Modern Family Star Ariel Winter Removed From Home
Actress Ariel Winter, the 14-year-old actress who plays Alex Dunphy on the ABC sitcom “Modern Family,” has been removed from her home after concerns that she was being physically and emotionally abused by her mother Crystal Workman.
Following an October 3rd guardianship hearing…Winter was placed in a temporary guardianship with her older sister Shanelle Workman.
The child actresses mother has been order not to get within 100 yards of her daughter.
According to sources…sister Shanelle also suffered abuse by her mother years ago and the Department of Child and Family Services removed her from the home as well. She was placed in foster care for two years and allegedly never returned to live with her mother.
The judge set another hearing for Nov. 20.
UPDATE:Ariel Winter’s brother, Jimmy Workman, claims the allegations of abuse are untrue, reports “Entertainment Tonight.”
Jimmy also claims that the allegations of abuse made by Ariel’s older sister Shanelle, when she filed for emancipation from the family 20 years ago, are untrue as well.
