Miss Universe 2012, Olivia Culpo, 20, from Cranston, Rhode Island denies rumors that she is dating Olympic swimmer Ryan Lochte.
In an interview on “Extra” last month…the shows host Maria Menounos ask her about the recent “talk” anbout her involvement with Lochte aka “Mr Personality.” In response…Culpo said …”At the end of the day we’re just friends, and I’m happy with that.”
Culpo and Lochte first met in September at the start of New York’s fashion extravaganza, chatting at shoe designer’s Brian Atwood’s lavish party.
The competition co-owned by Donald Trump and NBC.
Culpo was crowned Miss Rhode Island USA 2012 on September 18, 2011 in cranston Rhode Island.
On June 3, 2012, she represented Rhode Island and was crowned Miss USA taking over the rein held by Alyssa Campanella Miss USA 2011.
On Dec. 19, The Boston College sophomore represented the United States and won the title of Miss Universe 2012.
- Culpo became the eighth representing the United States to win the Miss Universe. The last time a contestant from the U.S. took home the title was in 1997.
- Olivia Culpo beat out 88 other beauty queens to take the title from Leila Lopes of Angola at the Planet Hollywood casino on the Las Vegas Strip.

Donald Trump is speaking out about last weeks Miss University controversy. “The Donald” initially banned, Jenna Talackova, Miss Canada, who is a transgender female from competing in the competition. Talackova sought legal counsel and hired Gloria Allred to represent her in the case. Allred held a press conference and addressed the competitions policy on transgender.
