A New York woman is facing numerous charges after she crashed her car into a stone retaining wall in New Jersey and then drove off.
The woman was allegedly drunk and wearing only a jacket at the time of the incident which occurred on Friday in the northwestern New Jersey community of Sparta Township.
The Sparta 911 dispatcher received a call at around at 12:53 a.m. Friday morning . The caller reported a white Volkswagon Jetta had crashed into a stone retaining wall on her property before fleeing the scene.
The woman identified as 36-year-old Catherine Giaquinto was stopped by authorities at a traffic light after they determined that the cars description was consistent with the car described by the caller and there was evidence of recent damage to the car. When officer approached the car...Giaquinto was only wearing an unzipped leather jacket and her clothes were in the backseat. Her speech was badly badly slurred and she had no recall of the accident.

She was ask to get dressed and given a series of field sobriety test which she failed. She was taken into custody and charged with driving while intoxicated, refusal to submit to breath testing, leaving the scene of an accident, failure to report an accident, careless driving, failure to wear a seat belt and a documentation violation.
Her vehicle was impounded.
Several hours later, she was released to the care of a sober adult and still maintains that she was not unclothed.
