Leory “Sugarfoot” Bonner, frontman for the legendary soul group…the Ohio Players has died after a long battle with cancer.
Bonner, whose career spanned for 56 joined the Ohio players in 1971. Together they released numerous hits, including “Love Rollercoaster” and “Fire.”
He was 69.
The Ohio Players were among the top funk bands of the mid-’70s. Emerging from the musical hotbed of Dayton in 1959, the group was originally dubbed the Ohio Untouchables.
