The 15-year-old found out in June that his biological mother, who gave birth to him in prison, had passed away

Davion has lost 40lb over the summer and been working hard in school – achieving A grades in almost all of his subjects

Davion Navar Henry Only told worshipers at Florida’s St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church that he would ‘be really appreciative’ of being adopted.

Davion Navar Henry, 15,  always dreamed of a  life with  parents, siblings and  “just a place to call home.”  He longed to play football Davion Navar Henry Only is 15 years old. He has been around people all his life, in and out of foster care but has no one to take him to practice.. He longed to be able to use the bathroom without someone unlocking a door and out of fear he just wanted to be able to the light left on when he sleeps.

Henry’s life began as anything but normal.  He was born in jail where his biological mother was serving time.  Immediately after his birth his mother relinquishes her  parental rights.  Davion was placed in foster care.    Throughout his life he has been moved from place to place…never know who would be his next foster parents.

He has spent the past few years at Carlton Manor residential group home in Eckerd, living with 12 other teenage boys, all suffering their own problems.

In June of 2013, Davion sat at a library computer, unfolded his birth certificate and, for the first time, searched for his mother’s name. Up came her mug shot: 6-foot-1, 270 pounds — tall, big and dark, like him.   He  also learned that his real mother  La-Dwina Ilene ‘Big Dust’ McCloud had died aged 55 in Clearwater.

In three years time when he will turn 18, he is aware that he will be on his own with no family and despite not having a life with his mother…the knowledge of her death left him feeling even more alone.

In a desperate plea  to be adopted…  he nervously stood  in front of  the congregation at St Mark Missionary Baptist Church in Florida, wearing an over-sized, donated suit that had come from his latest foster home.  He told  told the congregation  that all he ever wanted was a family and that he would   “take anyone… And I would be really appreciative. The best I could be.’

It was his idea to approach the St Petersburg church to find his own adoptive parents and take control of his future.  His heart wrenching plea touched the hearts of all those in the congregation and according to sources  two couples had made inquiries about Davion.

He  is still in the foster care system and despite  not having a family…sources close to the teen say…”he still has hope.

“Davion Navar Henry stands for  beloved, brown, ruler of the home, the one and only.
