NASCAR Morns the Death of Kevin Ward, Jr.

The Empire Super Sprint Series mourns the loss of Kevin Ward.

An  Empire Super Sprints series event at race at Canandaigua Motorsports Park in New York turned into a night of tragedy after NASCAR driver Tony Stewart ran over a competitor, 20-year-old Kevin Ward Jr., during a confrontation.  Ward was killed.

According to reports, during lap 14 of a 25 lap race, Stewart’s No. 14 car began sliding up the track toward Ward’s No. 13 car. The two appear to make contact before Ward’s car hits the wall and spins out. Another car narrowly avoids hitting the 13 car which was on the track facing the wrong direction.which had slowed for a yellow flag.  Full; story here
