Blake Griffin Reportedly Broke His Hand Hitting a Clippers’ Equipment Staff Member

The L.A. Clippers have come out strong and are condemning the actions of forward  Blake Griffin.

They have confirmed rumors that Griffin punched the team’s assistant equipment manager during a dispute at a restaurant on Jan. 23rd and are calling his actions disgraceful.

A spokesperson for the team Clippers franchise issued a statement saying that , “Griffin suffered a spiral fracture of the 4th metacarpal in his right hand throwing a punch on Jan. 23rd in Toronto.”

“His conduct has no place in our organization and this incident does not represent who we are as a team.”

“We are conducting a full investigation with assistance from the NBA. At the conclusion of the investigation, appropriate action will be taken.”

The Clippers say Blake already had a surgical procedure done on his hand early Tuesday morning — and will need 4 to 6 weeks to recover.

Legal issues and allegations of assault are nothing new to the NBA star. Griffin was charged with misdemeanor battery as a result of an October 2014 Las Vegas encounter. He purportedly seized a cell phone from its owner after the owner took a picture of a group of Clippers players. The charges were dismissed in March 2015 for lack of evidence.
