Clemson University Party Comes to a Halt After Floor Collapses

Dozens of Clemson University students and residents were taken to a three nearby Anderson, South Carolina hospitals on at around 12:30 a.m. Sunday morning.

They were treated for injuries after an apartment building clubhouse floor collapsed during a homecoming dance party sponsored by the Universities Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity.

According to sources, the victims were treated for broken bones, cuts and bruises. Fortunately for all those involved, the injuries weren’t serious!

The apartment complex, known as the Woodlands of Clemson is about three miles northeast of University.

It is unclear what caused the floor to giveaway. It is under investigation!

Clemson University sent a CU Safe Alert, notifying students, faculty and staff about the incident. The school said they would provide counseling and psychological services for “distressed students.”

“I’m monitoring the situation, and my thoughts and prayers are with all who were injured,” Clemson University president Jim Clements said. “Our entire student support system will be available for any student impacted.”
