Embattled Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam has found himself on the political the political  hot seat after he admitted and then denied appearing in a racist published by Big League Politics on Friday.

The photo  immediately hit social media causing a firestorm of political controversy,  leading to Democrats both in Virginia and across the country calling for him to resign.

On Saturday, he attempted to defended his prejudice and took a much difference stance claiming that he was not in a racist 1984 yearbook photo of two men dressed in blackface and Ku Klux Klan garb. His denial was made just one day after admitting he was in the picture.

He did acknowledge darkening his face for another occasion that same year, when he dressed as singer Michael Jackson as part of a talent contest.

The 59-year-old Democrat from Nassawadox admitted dressing up as the late singer, wearing similar footwear, a glove and shoe polish to look like an African-American person.

Ralph Northam is an American politician and physician serving as the 73rd Governor of Virginia since January 13, 2018. A physician by occupation, he was an officer in the U.S. Army Medical Corps from 1984 to 1992.
