Police are calling on a suspect to surrender in a fatal stabbing over a chicken sandwich at the Oxon Hill Popeyes restaurant in Prince George’s County, Maryland.

Before he could buy the meal he intended to get, an argument broke out between him and another man who confronted him about skipping the line.

Within 15 seconds after words were exchanged, police said, a fight spilled out into the parking lot of the restaurant, leaving the man who had been line-jumping fatally stabbed.

Police identified the 28-year-old victim as Kevin Tyrell Davis from the Washington area as Kevin He died less than an hour later at a hospital.

Neither man has been publicly identified.

Popeyes resumed selling its chicken sandwich on Sunday. It was first released in August, and the chain credited
popular demand to its supply selling out that month. Marketing around the sandwich has built a frenzy that’s causing long lines and waits at the chain’s restaurants.
