BCC News has reported:  That a US judge will decide whether R&B singer Chris Brown can perform at the Michael Jackson tribute gig in Vienna later this month, it has emerged.

Jermaine Jackson announced that Brown was part of the concert’s line-up on Wednesday, but now there is doubt over whether he will be allowed to attend.

Brown, 20, was sentenced to community service after he admitted to assaulting his ex-girlfriend, Rihanna, last month.

R&B singer Chris Brown, who pleaded guilty to beating ex-girlfriend Rihanna, said he cannot remember hitting her and still loves her.

Brown, who rose to fame as a teenager with hits like “Kiss, Kiss,” was sentenced last week to five years probation and some community service for assaulting Rihanna in February on the eve of the music industry’s Grammy awards.

His attack left Rihanna, a singer of hits songs such as “Umbrella,” bruised and bloodied. Since then he has publicly apologized but not sat for any media interviews. After his sentencing, he spoke to star interviewer Larry King and to People magazine, and both released excerpts on Monday.

King, whose interview airs on Wednesday night on CNN’s “Larry King Live,” asked Brown if he could remember the event, and the singer told him “no.”  Read full story here

Chris Brown’s mother, Joyce Hawkins, said she was “totally shocked” and “upset” when her son confided to her that he had been involved in a physical altercation with his former girlfriend, Rihanna.

A Los Angeles judge delays the sentencing of Chris Brown!

A California judge on Wednesday postponed the sentencing of singer Chris Brown for the assault of Rihanna, the singer with whom Brown has had a ♥romantic relationship.

The actual sentencing has been rescheduled for August 27.

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Patricia Schnegg was expected to impose five years of probation and about 1,400 hours in “labor-oriented service.”  Read full story here

People Magazine has reported that Chris Brown and Rihanna both attended Game 4 of the NBA Finals in Orlando last night separately, but a source said  “they requested to sit together” once they arrived inside the arena.

Despite his  best efforts, Chris Brown’s attorney has not yet managed to do away with his court case.

Attorney Mark Geragos requested, and was subsequently denied, a postponement of his upcoming make-or-break preliminary hearing.

According to !Eonline

Geragos wanted a hold on the case, claiming the the leaked police photo of Rihanna’s bruised face would compromise Brown’s defense. He had requested access to records of the police’s internal investigation, arguing that a pending California Supreme Court case could prevent him from obtaining them in the future (per current law, Geragos will only be allowed access to the records after the preliminary hearing he’s trying his best to delay).

The California appeals court shot down Geragos’ request without giving a reason, and the prelim, which will determine whether the case goes to trial and at which Rihanna has been subpoenaed to testify, is still on for June 22.
