The associated press has reported that three Mexican Navy boats and a helicopter have been searching the waters off the Caribbean near Cancun  for an American woman who reportedly fell  from a cruise ship “The Norwegian Pearl”  on Friday.   Jennifer Feitz, 36, was reported missing by her husband just before 5:00 am on Friday.

A member of  Mexico’s Fifth Naval Regional Command said in a statement issued late Friday that they found no sign of Feitz and were having to deal with “adverse conditions” and strong waves in the search taking place just over 17 miles (27 kilometers) east of Cancun.”  Their search was halted Friday evening however, they do plan to continue searching Saturday morning.

The Norwegian Cruise departed on Sunday from Miami for a seven day western Caribbean cruise.
