Michael Vick Reality Television
Wednesday, April 15th, 2009Former NFL quarterback turned inmate Michael Vick could be joining reality television according to the Associated Press. The show which would be a documentary would follow Vick starting on July 20, 2009 when he is released from federal custody after serving a 23 month sentence for dogfighting conspiracy. Sources reported that producers who have visited Vick in prison to talk about the proposal are willing to pay the former Atlanta Falcon $600,000 to give Vick the opportunity to try and redeem himself in the eyes of many. It is unclear what network will air the documentary however, you can bet it most likely won’t be televised on “Animal Planet.”
Vick’s incarceration already has inspired one series: National Geographic Channel’s “DogTown” devoted the opening episode of its second season to the rehabilitation of 22 of Vick’s traumatized pit bull. Read more of this story here.
