Riley Cooper Screwed up Big Time

Eagles Riley Cooper Racial Slurs

Riley Cooper has a huge black cloud hovering over his head and based on what sources are saying…it could linger for days to come.

Cooper, an NFL wide receiver for the Philadelphia Eagles played college football and college baseball for the University of Florida.  He was picked up by the Eagles in the fifth round of the 2010 NFL Draft.

The controversy began in July 2013 when a video surfaced of him being denied backstage access at a Kenny Chesney concert.  In the video Cooper used the word “n-word” to refer to the backstage bouncers.

Cooper has since  made a public apology and was fined an undisclosed amount by the Philadelphia Eagles.

The reaction from his teammates, the Eagles franchise  and media personalities is best described as “hurtful.”  Cooper has been ordered to seek counseling and is currently been excused from team activities.

A rep for the Eagles was blunt and to the point: “Riley Cooper will be seeking counseling and we have excused him from all team activities.”

The rep says Riley needs to understand how his racist threats — to fight every n***er at the Kenny Chesney concert — are hurtful.

The team is hedging over whether Cooper will be welcome back.

Riley Coopers professional career with the Philadelphia Eagles:

Cooper was selected by the Philadelphia Eagles in the fifth round (159th overall) of the 2010 NFL Draft. He was signed to a four-year contract on July 13, 2010.

Cooper caught his first NFL touchdown in a game against the Tennessee Titans on October 24, 2010.

He ended his first season with 7 receptions for 116 yards and 1 TD.

He scored his second touchdown of his career vs. New York Giants in week 10 of the 2011 NFL season on a 8-yard completion from Vince Young.

He broke his collarbone on July 28, 2012 and missed time,  but did return mid-season and made a one-handed catch for a touchdown against the Dallas Cowboys. He scored again in the second meeting in the season versus the Cowboys, and it was again a one-handed catch.

Team reacts with mixed emotions:

Quarterback Michael Vick expressed forgiveness of Cooper on Wednesday.

Cornerback Cary Williams said Thursday that slur “puts a damper to my spirits to what type of person (Cooper) is. I’m more cautious now to approach him.”

Tailback LeSean McCoy accepted Cooper’s apology, but hedged: “Ican’t really respect somebody like that.”

Robert Griffin III Washington Redskins

Robert Griffin III, the Redskins’ quarterback and NFL 2012 Offensive Rookie of the Year, is now the center of a potential sexting scandal as Meredith Barber claims she received “inappropriate” text messages — on his wedding day no less.

Robert Griffin III Text

“Oh the tangled web of tweets ,’ is the perfect tagline for Barber,  23, a Virginia Commonwealth University student and  Hooters waitress, who has now come forward claiming that newlywed NFL quarterback Robert Griffin III sent her.  Barber, also claims that she has even more damaging information which include emails and photos.

According to sources…It all started last Friday when the website Busted Coverage was tipped via its hotline by someone named Brandon K.

Brandon who had done a bit of Twitter sleuthing discovered something fishy going on between Griffin and the woman in question.

Busted Coverage issued its initial story Sunday, leading with Brandon K.’s tip:

“So I was looking through RGIII’s twitter feed the night of his wedding.  I followed his RTs to a groomsman of his, William Mallow.  Going through his twitter feed I found a girl he RT that said she missed him.  She looked hot so I looked at her feed.  (@Mere__)  THat night one of her friends tweeted “RGIII getting married today.  Will @Mere__ crash the wedding?”  She responds immediately with “I could show Becky this though”  and its a picture of her text messages with a guy name RgIII in her phone.  The text show a black guy lifting up his shirt showing a six pack and trying to get her to respond along with a message.  After no response from Barber..Griffin finally gives up .  His final tweet to her read…“Well ok I give up I guess. See you in a few weeks kid.”

The exchange is dated 1am July 6 – the early hours of RG III’s wedding day to longtime girlfriend Rebecca Liddicoat.

Aaron Hernandez Charged With Murder

Aaron Hernandez has been charged with the murder of  Odin Lloyd.  Lloyd,   a semi-professional football player was an acquaintance of the NFL star.

New England Patrions Aaron Hernandez ArrestedThe former New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez drove his friend to a remote spot in an industrial park in the dead of night and — still fuming from a fight at a nightclub three nights earlier — “orchestrated his execution,” prosecutors alleged in a Massachusetts court Wednesday.

The 27-year-old’s body was found on June 17 in an industrial park by a nighttime jogger.

Hernandez’s girlfriend Shayanna Jenkins and Lloyd’s relatives  were in tears as he was brought to the Attleboro District Court in Massachusetts on Wednesday and was told that he will be held without bail.

The 23-year-old pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder and five firearms charges, including possessing a large-capacity firearm, more than a week after the body of Odin Lloyd, 27, was found near his Massachusetts home. A judge ordered him held without bail.

According to sources, police have been investigating Hernandez because Lloyd’sr girlfriend and Jenkins are sisters so it is clear that they knew one another prior to Lloyd’s death.   Lloyd lived in his uncle’s home in Dorchester, which is roughly 35 miles from where his body was found.

Lloyd joined the Boston Bandits with a group of friends from the John O’Bryant School of Math and Science in Roxbury in 2007, and together they formed the spine of the team.

Patriots Press Release, Aaron Hernandez…”A young man was murdered last week and we extend our sympathies to the family and friends who mourn his loss. Words cannot express the disappointment we feel knowing that one of our players was arrested as a result of this investigation,” the New England Patriots said in a statement. “We realize that law enforcement investigations into this matter are ongoing. We support their efforts and respect the process. At this time, we believe this transaction is simply the right thing to do.”
