Associated Press: The Revs. Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson attacked the bid by Rush Limbaugh to buy the St. Louis Rams on Monday, saying the conservative radio host’s track record on race should exclude him from owning an NFL team. Sharpton sent a letter to NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, arguing that Limbaugh has been divisive and “anti-NFL” in some of his comments.

Jackson said in a telephone interview that Limbaugh had made his wealth “appealing to the fears of whites” with an unending line of insults against blacks and other minorities.

“The National Football League has set high standards for racial justice and inclusion,” Jackson said. “He should not have the privilege of owning an NFL franchise — and it is a privilege.” The civil rights leader said he’s had contact with numerous players and ex-players concerned about the bid.

NFL Scores Week 5: Brett Favre Minnesota Vikings vs. St. Louis Rams
Brett Favre was 18/24 for 232 yards and a touchdown, Adrian Peterson collected 69 yards on the ground and a pair of TDs and the defense of the Minnesota Vikings (5-0) forced four turnovers in a 38-10 pounding of the St. Louis Rams (0-5) on Sunday.
Peterson put the Vikings in front in the opening frame when he scored on a 5-yard run and two minutes later the Vikings were celebrating another touchdown after Jared Allen picked up a fumble and went 52-yards for a score and a 14-0 advantage. Both teams traded field goals in the second quarter and the half ended with Minnesota in front 17-3. Read full story here

The Deal.com reported: Outspoken conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh may buy the National Football League’s St. Louis Rams. After months of rumors, the conservative radio host has agreed to join St. Louis Blues owner Dave Checkett’s consortium of bidders. But will his controversial statements make the bid as much of a long shot as the Rams chances of a Super Bowl this year?
Checkett’s reportedly has been looking for a high-net-worth individual to help fund his bidding group. Read full story here
What is Rush Limbaugh’s net worth?
Wiki Answers:
No one knows for sure, as Rush Limbaugh is not tied to a public company, and thus does not have to publish figures. This said, however, press releases and insider sources have been able to change a guess to “educated guess”. Known revenue includes:
-
$285 million salary and bonus for 2001 through 2008 ($35m bonus, salary of approximately $31.25m/year)
-
$400 million salary and bonus from 2009 through 2016 ($100m plus bonus – the exact figure was not disclosed, except for “nine digit bonus” – and $38m/year salary)
So through his salary itself, he has earned $285 million for current work, $400 million for future. And that only covers back to 2001. Rush has been on the air since 1988. While he certainly earned less in his early days, it can be assumed his salary was significant. Additionally, it is rumored that he receives a share of advertising revenue, which would be quite large, considering his 20 million listeners each week.
Thus, in conclusion, Rush Limbaugh is close to, or just over the billionaire net worth mark. With at least $685 million, and advertising revenue joined with previous contracts which must be in the hundreds-of-millions range, Rush can be assumed an essential billionaire. Read more here

Avery will be back, but will miss four to six weeks after suffering a stress fracture in his left foot. It is unclear whether Avery was injured on one specific play—although he was tackled low by Justin King following a reception—or if it occurred over the course of the evening.
Either way, Avery woke up with discomfort in his foot, and an MRI following Sunday morning’s practice revealed the fracture. Read full story here
