NFL Took Small Step Toward Recapturing Its Magic in Week 9

NFL Recapturing Its Magic in Week 9

The smallest Sunday games slate of this season had produced something that NFL was deeply lacking in the year 2016 campaign smiles.

where to order Depakote online There were odd moments when Chris Boswell of Pittsburgh’s whiffing on his fancy onside when kicking an attempt in the horrific fashion, where Oakland punter who is Marquette King started imitating the Denver all-star dance moves of linebacker Lambeau Field and Von Miller. NFL spread being invaded by squirrel, which delayed action within Indianapolis-Green Bay game thus making it to be one of the interesting ideas.

In the whole process, Austin Powers was only thing missing and a shoe. This made it so special especially among those who wanted something entertaining when they visited the game.

Super Bowl or Super Blah?

Super Bowl XLIX

It’s finally here. The day we have been waiting weeks for. chloroquine australia Super Sunday. But, will it really be a game for the ages or, just another ho hum boring game like so many past ones? On paper it looks like a great match up. A great defense ( Seattle ) versus a great offense ( New England ). A rising star QB ( Russell Wilson ) vs. a first ballot Hall of Fame QB ( Tom Brady ). A Hall of Fame Head Coach ( Mr. Belichick ) seeking his fourth Super Bowl ring versus a Head Coach with a checkered past ( Pete Carroll ) attempting to win back to back Super Bowls. There are a lot of great story lines going into tonight’s game but there are also a lot of dark clouds that surround both of these teams.

The Pats have had to deal with SpyGate in 2007, DeFlateGate in 2015, and the ongoing Hernandez murder case. Tom Brady and Bill BelichickRecently, Hall of Fame coach Don Shula referred to Belichick as “Belicheat”. However, say what you want, Bill Belichick has been the architect of the first, and perhaps only, dynasty in the salary cap era! It’s a classic question of “the chicken or the egg”? Belichick, Brady. Brady, Belichick. Regardless, in a league of “it’s all about me”, the New England Patriots have been the dominate team, the team that all others are compared to, the team that is feared most.

Will Tom Terrific win his final Super Bowl game and ride off into the sunset on top of his game and be considered the greatest QB of all time? Will Mr. Belichick win his fourth ring and be considered the greatest coach of all time?

Seahawks Cracked Peyton Manning’s Hand Signal code

The Seattle Seahawks are claiming that they were able to decode Denver Broncos’ quarterback Peyton Manning’s hand signal codes on the field during the Super Bowl.

Seattle Claims the crackep Mannings Hand Signal CodeControversial corner back Richard Sherman said that he and his fellow defenders cracked the code that the Denver Broncos quarterback was using, meaning that they knew exactly what to expect for each play.

According to Sherman…” they figured out which plays went with which hand motions during the first quarter of the Super Bowl.”

Manning’s hand signal codes are known within the league for being one of his common traits on the field, just as the call ‘Omaha’ is associated with the 37-year-old.

Manning is so closely associated with ‘Omaha’ that 15 companies pledged to donate $1,500 to charity each time that he said it during the Super Bowl.

Instead of his typical double digit mentions, he only said it twice during Sunday night’s big game. (By comparison, Fox Sports reported that he said it 31 times during the AFC title game.)

In post game interviews, however, Manning and other Broncos offensive linemen explained that the noise at MetLife stadium stopped some of their verbal messages to one another.

Funny Super Bowl Wagers

From the color of Gatorade to Richard Sherman’s rant…Las Vegas sports enthusiast have released a number of hilarious wagers for the upcoming 2014 Super Bowl XLVIII.

  • Will it snow during the game?

Yes                  +300     (3/1)

No                    -500     (1/5)

Super Bowl Weekend:  Snow Bowl or Just “Hot Air”?

Super Bowl Weather We’re now four to five days away from Super Bowl weekend, and the specifics, while still with some uncertainties, are starting to come into view now.

  • Saturday: A warm front is expected to lift northward through northern New Jersey as a cold front approaches from the west. This may spread some rain into the region sometime Saturday into Saturday night. To be clear, this is not a major storm, however, low clouds/drizzle may trigger flight delays at the three NYC airports.
  • Super Bowl Sunday: Fortunately, Saturday’s system will have exited well into the Canadian Maritimes by early in the day. So, expect clearing skies, a lingering breeze, perhaps a leftover early morning flurry, and temperatures fairly close to average for early February.
  • Outlook for the Super Bowl (6:30 p.m ET):  Kickoff temperature should be in the 30s, possibly dropping into the upper 20s by late in the game. Any breezes from the afternoon will be diminishing, so we don’t expect wind to be a factor, at all. No rain or snow expected.

According to NFL Executive Vice President Eric Grubman, the game could be played any day from Friday, January 31 to Monday, February 3, in case of a major winter storm.

  • Will the power go out in the stadium during the game?

  • Will the announcers say the word “Marijuana” during the game?

No                    -900     (1/9)

NFL could indeed change its mind about marijuanaThe only two states (Colorado, Washington) where marijuana has been legalized for recreational use are sending teams to the Super Bowl. Commence, “Weed Bowl”.  So it probably shouldn’t come as any surprise that Seahawks coach Pete Carroll was asked about marijuana on Monday.

Carroll wasn’t asked about recreational marijuana use though, he was asked his thoughts on the use of medicinal marijuana in the NFL.

“We have to continue to explore and compete to find ways that are going to make our game a better game and take care of our players in the best way possible,” Carroll said.”The fact that it’s in the world of medicine is obviously something [that Commissioner Roger Goodell] realizes and him making the expression that we need to follow the information and the research absolutely I’m in support of. Regardless of what other stigmas may be involved, I think we have to do this because the world of medicine is trying to do the exact same thing and figure it out and they’re coming to some conclusions.”

No way, right?  Archie Manning, said he expected his son to continue to play for the Denver Broncos beyond this season, even if he added a second Super Bowl championship to his long list of accomplishments.

“I think he still enjoys it,” Archie Manning said in a phone interview. “If he can continue to enjoy it and stay healthy, I think he wants to play.”

Peyton Manning, who turns 38 on March 24, has not missed a game for Denver despite multiple surgical procedures on his neck that sidelined him for the 2011 season, his last with the Indianapolis Colts.

Peyton Manning Omaha

Manning’s use of “Omaha” became such a huge story indicates just how little we all understand about the game. Manning’s ability to read, react and adjust at the line of scrimmage is well documented, but how he does it seems to be a mystery.

In fact, Manning does many of the same things at the line of scrimmage as other quarterbacks. Manning isn’t the only quarterback that uses the word “Omaha,” and he isn’t the only quarterback that adjusts protections, routes and plays at the line of scrimmage, either

The difference between Manning and other quarterbacks is that he almost always makes the correct adjustments. When he’s wrong, he and his receivers know how to adjust after the snap.

Peyton Manning Explains the Meaning of Omaha

Peyton Manning has made some sense of all this “Omaha” hoopla. Wednesday during his AFC Championship game week press conference Broncos quarterback Peyton answered tie big question…Peyton, what’s up with Omaha?   Manning said “Omaha, it’s a run play.”

“But it could be a pass play, or a play-action pass, depending on a couple of things: the wind, which way we’re going, the quarter, and the jerseys that we’re wearing,” Manning said.

“It really varies, really, from play-to-play. So there’s your answer to that.”  Now you know the rest of the story…

Super Sunday or Nordic Sunday???

Now that the conference champions have been crowned, we must now wait 2 weeks before the big game.

Super Bowl XLVIIITwo weeks of the Talking Heads going over the same things, day after day, only with different Talking Heads each day. The experts that played the game give us blah, blah, blah, blah insight. And how about the weather gurus that are wrong about the weather 90% of the time telling us that….it will be cold on Super Bowl Sunday….maybe the coldest Super Bowl on record? When I grow up ( and it may be a while ), I want to be a weatherman. Where else in this country can you earn a paycheck for being wrong most of the time? Let’s see…if I was a betting man, I bet…. it will be cold for the Super Bowl! Wow! I have just started my new career as a weatherman. Weather Channel lookout – here I come! I have been to Vegas numerous times for the Super Bowl and seen all the crazy things you can place a wager on. I bet this year you can put a ducat on the temperature being above 38 degrees or below 36 degrees. For the coin toss, will the coin land on the carpet or a patch of snow?

All joking aside, why would the NFL put their showcase game in the NY/NJ area knowing that weather could play a HUGE roll in the outcome of the game? Corporate America has to be concerned also as they use this time to wine and dine top customers. This is supposed to be a fun filled weekend, not a time when you are fighting the elements and your first concern is trying to stay warm. Peyton Manning and Russell Wilson, Super BowlThe great people of the northeast do deserve an opportunity for a sporting event of this magnitude, however, a nor’easter could ruin the entire weekend and be a black eye for the league. If you saw the news today, that area just got hit with 13″ of the white stuff. Maybe that is a good sign, get the storm out of the way now and clear skies with warming temperatures are just around the corner. Don’t bet on that happening any time soon!

The Richard Sherman outburst has left a sour taste in many a fan. In talking to folks that don’t have a “dog in the fight”, they are now jumping on the Bronco Bandwagon. This could be the final game for Peyton Manning and just like Bronco legend John Elway before him, win the Super Bowl and ride off into retirement. There is absolutely no reason for Peyton to come back next year if the Broncos win this one. His health has to be more important than a few more paychecks. We are talking about a serious neck injury here. Why risk it? Win this final game and ride off into the sunset as one of the greatest quarterbacks in the history of pro football. Don’t bet against him, deep down he knows this is his last chance to put a ring on his finger and the great ones always rise to the occasion!

Quote, Russell Wilson
“Every game’s a championship game.  When we focus that way, get prepared that way, that this is it, you know, this is the last one, the biggest one, you get ready, you get amped up, you get that laser focus and you’re ready to play.”
