Adrian Peterson Gets Probation in Exchange for No Contest Plea

Adrian Peterson appeared in a Texas courtroom today to hear the judges ruling in the  felony child abuse case which has put his NFL career on hold.

Adrian Peterson Gets ProbationPeterson, who has missed a total of 10 games since the beginning of the 2013 season,  has been sentenced to two years of supervised probation in his child abuse case.

The charges were  reduced from felony child abuse to misdemeanor domestic violence in exchange for a no contest plea.

The plea was accepted by Montgomery County judge Kelly Case.

He must perform 80 hours of community service and was fined $4000.00.  He will also be subjected to random drug tests.  He has  no travel restrictions.

In the plea deal he forfeits his right to appeal the case in the future.

The Minnesota Vikings running back addressed the media after the hearing, saying,  “I want to say I truly regret this incident. I take full responsibility for my actions. I love my son, more than anyone of you could even imagine.”   Peterson was indicted on September 2013 for injuring his 4-year-old son while whipping him with a tree branch in May.

Adrian Peterson Resisting Arrest Charges Prosecutors in the Adrian Peterson, 27,  resisting arrest case have dismissed the charges after they determined that there wasn’t sufficient evidence to to prove he shoved an off-duty cop at a Houston bar in July.

Originally we reported that the NFL star,  was at a Houston nightclub known as “Bayou Place,”  when he allegedly shoved a security officer.

The officer ask Peterson and the people with him to leave because the club was closing.  Peterson…who was said to be “drunk,” became angry and shoved the officer.  He was arrested and taken into custody.

Rusty Hardin…attorney for the Vikings running back is reporting that it was determined after that based on Peterson’s grand jury testimony…There was not sufficient evidence to proceed with the case.

Shortly after Peterson was informed of the court ruling…he sent a text message to an ESPN reporter…Josina Anderson which said…  “They dropped the charges. Thank God.”

 Peterson has maintained his innocence from day one.

Randy Moss’ brash behavior during a team meal last week appalled his teammates and was a critical reason why the Minnesota Vikings released the wide receiver, according to Yahoo! Sports.

According to a Vikings player at the meal, Moss berated the servers who prepared the meal in an act his former teammates considered arrogant and out of line.

“It was brutal,” the player told Yahoo! Sports. “The truth is, he deserved to be cut after that. It was such an uncomfortable moment.”

It was one of several instances the Vikings have had with Moss since trading a third-round pick for the wide receiver in early October.   Read more here

(Reuters) – The Minnesota Vikings waived Randy Moss four games after acquiring the seven-times Pro Bowl wide receiver from the New England Patriots, the NFL’s website (www.nfl.com/) said on Monday.

Moss, who did not fly back to Minnesota with the team after their 28-18 loss at New England on Sunday, has 24 hours for a team to claim him and his contract off waivers.
