Bruce Pearls Future at UT

University of Tennessee athletics director Mike Hamilton is uncertain as to the fate of  Vols head coach Bruce Pearl.  In an interview on Wednesday with a Knoxville radio station, WNML-AM Hamilton said that a meeting will take place when the season ends.  Those who will be involved in the decision include Hamilton, Chancelor Jimmy Cheek and the board of trustees.

When ask during the interview as to whether or not Pearl would return he replied “we don’t know that right now.”   The statement caught Pearl totally off guard and many think it was a bad thing to say the day before the final four tournament was set to begin.  In a statement Pearl said “it came as a bit of a surprise.”  Pearl is no longer under contract with the University.  Hamilton has apologized to Pearl for his untimely remark.

The  9 seeded Vols are set to take on the 8 seeded Michigan on Friday at 1:40 p.m. and will be televised on Tru TV.  ( not on CBS as orignally scheduled)  For a complete list of the schedule link  HERE
